Thirty-one year old Lansana Koroma a motorbike mechanic made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road court No.2 in Freetown on a count charge of larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Monday 18th March, 2024 at Bandset, Kingtom Police Barracks in the western area of Freetown did steal as a bailee one XL motorbike with registration number AKL 220 valued at forty five thousand leones (45,000) and a physical cash of eight hundred leones all to the total sum of forty five thousand eight hundred leones (45,800) entrusted to him by Mohamed Mansaray for the purpose of repairs property of Mohamed Mansaray
When the charge was read and explained to the accused persons no plea taken.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant 3379 Ballay T. told the bench that fact as charged, no previous criminal records was against the accused person.
The accused was not legally represented and he pleaded with the bench to tamper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura in his judgment said he confirmed that the accused is a convict by virtue of the sentence handed on him on 25th April, 2025. He therefore sentenced him to one year imprisonment and ordered that the accused refund the motorbike and the fiscal cash on the subject matters of this action immediately.
