During his tributes in the chambers of Parliament, Hon Abdul Kargbo, the leader of opposition in Parliament, Hon. Abdul Koroma warned both Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and All People’s Congress (APC) party Parliamentarians to allow their drivers to have enough sleep before driving.
His warning followed the tragic death of Hon. Dura Koroma few days ago due to sleep of his driver. He attributed the loss as painful to Parliament.
“If your drivers do not sleep before driving, then as owner the vehicle, you take the steering and drive yourself,” Hon. AKK urged.
In an emotional reflection of the deeds of the late MP, Hon. Kargbo described the death as a national because he said he was bona fide member of the APC but his actions cut across all political divide, stating that after the fatal accident, the SLPP western area chairman paid a visit to 34 Military Hospital where he cried profusely.
He said he hardly shed tears unless in extreme cases, but the passing of Hon. Dura Koroma made him cried at 34 Hospital.
The leader further underscored the need for people not to fight themselves for politics.
He warned that the manner in which Hon. Dura Koroma strategically placed himself before his death shows a call for unity in diversity.
He said arrangements are ongoing for his befitting burial, and the APC leadership in Parliament will inform the House accordingly on the date set.
Hon Kargbo has also reechoed the need to have a belief that the life lost was a steam in his party who worked tirelessly to ensure that he delivered his deliverables.
“The late man launched over four billion leones projects in his constituency. Who is going to complete them?” he asked.
He therefore urged to have a cohesive parliament and work towards peace and deescalate political tensions.
