28-years-old Chernor Jalloh Alias Fullah Boy a plumber, and 20-years-old Gibrilla Kamara Aka Wizzy, and 62-years-old Saidu Governor Kargbo a business man made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown.
They stood on fifteen counts charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a crime to wit robbery with aggravation, three count ranging from robbery with aggravation, causing grievous bodily harm, wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two count ranging from possession of arms without license, having in control of small arms without license, unlawful concealment of arms without license, carrying offensive weapon, and three count ranging from receiving stolen goods contrary to section of 33 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 25th March, 2024 at Kelvin at #84 Maraya Street, Bathurst village, the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation on count two the first and second accused persons on the above date and place being armed with a short Gun and machetes robbed James Kelfala Mamoh Foh one Samsung fold 5 mobile phone one oppo 17 mobile phone and one Samsung A-34 mobile phone.
All items’ total value worth fifty six thousand seven hundred Leones(56,700) as property of the said James Kelfala Momoh Foh.
Count three further stated that on the same date and place the accused persons being armed with a “short gun” and machetes robbed Mayima Sia Macauley of two gold rings, one grey dell laptop computer, black dell laptop computer, iPhone 13 Pro max mobile phone, one gold chain, one Africell wifi modem, one android tablet and a physical cash of four thousand nine hundred Leones(4,900) all total of a value of sixty seven thousand five hundred Leones(67,500) as property of the said Mayima Sia Macauley.
And on count four on the above date and place the accused persons being harm with a “short gun” and machetes robbed Abdul Kpewa Rogers of one black school bag and a physical cash the three thousand six hundred Leones all to the total value of three thousand nine hundred and fifty Leones(3,950) property of the said Abdul Kpewa Rogers.
And on count four on the above date and place the accused persons caused grievous bodily harm to Abdul Kpewa Rogers with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm on count six the accused persons maliciously wounded the said Abdul Kpewa Rogers.
And on count seven at the same date and place the accused persons assaulted the said Abdul Kpewa Rogers in a manner thereby causing him actual bodily harm and on count eight the accused persons at the same place and date were found in possession of short gun(local made pistol) without license on count nine the accused persons on the above date and place were found in possession of seven red cartridges bullets without license on count ten the accused person at the same date and place were found in control of one short gun with red handle without license.
While on count eleven the first accused person on the same date and place did conceal one “short gun” with red handle without license on count twelve the first accused person on the same date and place carry offensive weapon in a public place without lawful authority.
And on count thirteen to fifteen the third accused person Saidu Governor Kargbo did receive one gold chain, two gold wedding rings all to the total sum of sixteen thousand Leones(16,000) as property of the said Mayima Sia Macauley knowing same to have been stolen.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons and no plea was taken.
The prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Ibrahim S Mansaray sought for a short adjournment date for him to get proper conference with his witness.
The counsel representing the third accused person was A.Mansary; he applied for bail for and on behalf of the third accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident and within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance on his behalf.
And that he will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will he jump bail.
He made his application pursuant to section 79 2 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile Magistrate Kekura granted the third accused person bail in the sum of five hundred thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum surety to be gainfully employed in government institution in Sierra Leone sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her addresses in Freetown bail to be approved by the deputy assistant Registrar Matter adjourned to the 7th May 2024.
