The Old Bo Boys Association, OBBA, on Monday April 21st, conducted peaceful elections for its National Executive to climax OBBA 96th year celebrated with the Bo School’s 119th year anniversary. Some substantive holders retained their positions, while some were elevated to new heights within the executive. New names starred at the elections in very critical positions.
The National President 2439 Daboh Hadji, retained his position as is his Assistant 4803 Ibrahim Sesay, the Social Secretary 5326 Fayia Tamba and his Assistant 5513 Sandi Dauda, National PRO 5332 Aziz-Kamara Sarjoh. 5792 Mohamed Mubashirr Massaquoi was elevated to the position of Secretary General after serving as Assistant Secretary General for two terms.
Some prominent and dedicated members successfully ran for key positions. Amongst them is 5533 Fawundu Franklin Brima, who was duly elected Assistant Secretary General. A career diplomat and consummate civil servant, Mr. Fawundu brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in manning the Secretariat. The quintessential and affable character, Fawundu’s reputation for efficiency and diligence within and without OBBA is remarkable.
A new but very familiar person in 6240 Joseph Ibrahim Kormoh was unanimously elected as National Treasurer of OBBA. Mr. Kormoh’s fiduciary discipline and effective resource management spreads beyond the shores of Sierra Leone. His skills at resource mobilisation, personnel inspiration to purpose and personal drive are expected to be deployed in the association.
6100 Muctarr Manasu Conteh also staved off competition from friends to clinch the coveted position of Auditor. Mr. Conteh has a knack for details and is known for probe and accountability.
The executive is expected to engender effective change and build on what the school has already achieved over the years in maintaining excellence.
