As the ICC cricket is underway, Salone Under-19 are set to play Kenya.
This match, the Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifiers is set to be played, on March 28th 2025, in Lagos Nigeria.
The two-week tournament will feature Namibia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and host country Nigeria.
The event will mark the final qualifiers to the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026.
Only one team from this round robin tournament will make it to next year’s show.
The matches will be played at two venues: the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Cricket Oval and the University of Lagos (Unilag) Cricket Oval.
On March 28, Nigeria will face Namibia at the TBD Oval as Sierra Leone pulls the trigger at Kenya at the Unilag Oval.
In 2009, Sierra Leone went close to qualifying for this prestigious tournament.
This was after it had graduated to the ICC Under-19 Division 1 tier for four times: 2009 (in Maputo), 2018 (in South Africa), 2022 (in Abuja), and 2024 (in Tanzania).
In 2019, sub-regional contender Nigeria secured the lone African ticket and competed in the ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup hosted in South Africa 2020.
