On the bomb making trial, the third prosecution witness, Alhaji Kabba led by State Counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq on Tuesday 17th September 2024, started by testifying before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.2 at Pademba Road, Freetown, by saying he is the Operation Manager of Global Aviation and he lives at 151 Black Hall Road, in Freetown.
He said the office import, export and Transit of goods and that his own duties are to receive and process documents and to clear goods for the company.
He told the Court that he had worked for the company for 12-13 years and he recognized his boss to be Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara.
He said he recognized the first accused Hussein Antar on the 11th November 2023 at Waterloo, and he also recognized the second accused Jamal Antar as the receiver of the container but he did not recognize the third accused who is Suliaman Barrie.
He recalled what had happened on the 1st October 2023 and 29 July 2024, when he received a document which was about a delivery order from his boss Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara.
The document entails information of a 3 by 40feet and 20feet container requiring for a process on it clearance to be done at Water Quay, Cline town.
The witness further said that on the 9th November 2023, he went to Bolorie Logistics company to do the process and the following day he received a delivery order.
When he went to the Quay, he saw the containers carrying the name JTK ready for scanning and he gave the documents for the containers for scanning and the results were given to him then.
He added that after the results, he called the boss of the company telling that he had received the scanning results.
He further that on the 11th November 2023, he took the documents to custom for inspection and later the container was released to him. He called that his boss Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara asked him where to take the containers to.
He stated that Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara then told him to wait as he was calling one Samuel Marrah to ask him were to take the container.
Few minutes Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara called him and said the containers will be taken to Waterloo Bar Drive, 3 Mile.
The witness said upon the Instruction he went to the location (Bar Drive, 3 Mile Waterloo) and called his boss Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara and he directed him to Samuel Marrah as he will tell him the person to deliver the containers to.
He continued that when he then reached at Bar Drive , 3 Mile Waterloo, and reach out to Samuel Marrah, Samuel Marrah told him that Husein Antar is the owner of the containers so he must hand over the containers to him.
The witness disclosed that the first accused Husein Antar called Jamal Antar in front of him to call labourers to offload the containers.
Upon that he returned back to Freetown and report to his boss Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara that he has delivered the containers, he concluded.
The defense ISY Kamara Esq cross examined the witness and presented medical papers for the accused persons for them to be granted bail but it was opposed by the State Counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq, he said the matter is of public interest and they are being charged with 32 counts, so the Magistrate should discountenance the bail application.
In his ruling, Magistrate Santigie Bangura said the matter has weight and the accused should be taken to the medical department of the Correction Service for them to get proper treatment.
He then refused bail and remanded the accused persons to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The matter has been adjourned to the 25th September 2024.
