Greed, egocentric tendencies, selfishness and other vices that have culminated into perpetual hardship and abject poverty have undoubtedly eating deep into the fabric of our sense of nationality and mutual love for one another in our society today.

In a way to clean our brains of these backward thinking tendencies we need to be a united people, encourage ourselves and put behind us all the evil factors behind and think positively with one mind and aim at one common objective which is development.

There is no two ways about it that the only way we can develop as a nation is to have a very strong innate tendency of unity that will always remind us that we have a commitment to our country, because there is nowhere in the world we can be proud of our nationality as Sierra Leonean apart from here we call our motherland.

Therefore, we should not allow the country to be buried deep into the abysmal of ignominy situation that will make us lose our sound national and international credibility and reputation.

Unfortunately, though, those we have always entrusted to rule us have been our enemies some even metamorphosing themselves into demi-gods, instead of serving their subjects they always make themselves our masters subjecting the subjects to serve them.

There is no secret about this as it has been manifested by almost all the preceding and successive leaders. Their negative attitudes have been nothing to write home about as they deliberately betray the country and people for their selfish gains.

These are the same people who will want to continue to be our leaders without the least regard to the suffering of their subjects and some of them even impose their children on the people which have sometimes led to serious trouble in the country.

These greedy leaders have made us slaves in our own motherland because of selfish interest which is why our nationality is always at stake.
