Councilor Ibrahim Owen Bangura has denied any involvement in the accusations of an unidentified corpse that was discovered off Tokeh Highway early this month.
Speaking to this reporter, Councillor Bangura said that he was totally shocked and dismayed over the accusations levelled against him on some social media platforms.
The Councillor said that his presence at the site was deliberately misconstrued and that he only went to the scene after the Community Head Man, Momoh Kargbo, called and told him that a corpse was lying off the Tokeh Highway.
“Immediately I went to the scene and saw the corpse, I informed the Adonkia Police Station for its investigation,” Councillor Bangura told this reporter.
He however lamented that some unscrupulous people, who are desperate to grab government lands forcefully, are behind all these fabrications aimed at tarnishing his hard-earned reputation because of his stance against the grabbing of state lands.
Councillor Bangura emphasized his commitment to resolving land disputes through legal and peaceful means, urging all parties to respect judicial processes and maintain peace in the community.
The Councillor was interrogated over the allegations and he was set free after the police discovered that he was not involved in any wrongdoing regarding the said corpse that was discovered off the Tokeh Highway.
Meanwhile, the police are currently investigating the matter and several suspects have been apprehended in relation to the said corpse.
