Like erstwhile President Alhaji Ahmad Tejan Kabba of blessed memory who kept sealed lips over the speculation that he wanted to drop his vice Dr. Joe Demby also late, as running mate for his second and last term bid, so President Julius Maada Bio seems to follow as he has deliberately refused to break his silence on the wild peculation that he is contemplating not to retain his vice Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh.
It’s widely rumored that President Bio is planning to choose the opposition National Grand Coalition (NGC) leader Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella (KKY) whom many believe has almost returned to his parent party the SLPP which he had left to form his own party prior to the 2018 general elections for obvious reasons.
Prior to 2007 general elections, there had been rumour that President Kabba had no plan to retain Dr. Joe Demby and that speculation certainly came to fruition by the former opting to choose late Vice President Solomon Berewa instead as running mate who eventually became the party’s standard bearer for 2012 elections but was defeated by ex-President Ernest Bai Koroma.
Similarly, whether the rumour doing the rounds is true or not is now left with the president to determine.
