Parliament of Sierra Leone has given a 7-day ultimatum to MNOs and ISPs over the submission of their financial statements.
Following its continued public hearings on queries raised in the Auditor General’s Report for 2023, the Public Accounts Committee, chaired by the Deputy Speaker of Sierra Leone Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, on Wednesday 09/04/2025, heard officials from the Universal Access Development Fund (UADF).
At the hearing on Wednesday, Internet Service Providers and Mobile Network Operators including Orange, Africell, Qcell, Zoodlabs, Metro Cable, and K3 were asked to submit their audited financial statements to the Public Accounts Committee.
They’re required by law to submit documents to the Public Accounts Committee during the course of executing her constitutional mandate, failing which is deemed contemptible by Parliament.
Upon submitting their audited financial statements, the actual calculations will be done for purposes of deducting the actual sums that are payable to the government as required by law.
