The Sierra Leone Police has informed the general Public about an Illegal protest, additionally they also intimated the press that, certain individuals, senior Military Officers are trying to stage protest at the detriment of the State.

According to the Assistance Inspector General of police, M. A. Brima Jah, said that, several arrests have been made and they are presently assisting the police with investigations. Those individuals are trying to organize an illegal protest planning to cause unrest to the citizenry and the state. He went further to say that, the police force is always ready to put all plans against whatever violence against the State.  He however, shows, the accuracy and high level intelligence the police force have set up to restore the peace of the country.

After preliminary investigations, the Sierra Leone police revealed that these individuals planned to use purported peaceful protests between 7th -10th August, 2023, as a guide to unleash violent attacks against state institutions and peaceful citizens.

This event also witnessed by the public Relations Officer of O N S, Mr. Abdul Karim Will, who was at the Press conference to represent O N S; which is an institution also responsible to restore and maintain the peace and tranquility of the state. This event also puts the transparence of the police force to the fore in  ensuring that any issue relating to  any unrest would be made known to institutions concern in resolving and maintaining conflict.

The head of operations, Mr. M. A. Brima Jah also urge everybody to go about their normal business, and ensuring that the police force is on top of situation. He ended by thanking the media personnel present on the emergence meeting of the police at the police conference room.
