A high-powered delegation from Banga Group, led by Vice President Mr. Sow Taguiyoulaye dit Yero, and including Banga Group’s Chinese partners, among others, joined SALHOC leadership to tour key lands for the housing project. The team also included SALHOC General Manager, Mr. Joseph Munda Sandi, Deputy Mr. Emmanuel Tommy, and Banga Group’s Local Representative, Alhaji Ibrahim Conteh.
The delegation inspected 206 acres in Mile 6, 150 acres in Mapara, and 25 acres in Macdonald, all earmarked for the construction of modern, affordable homes.
The project follows the July 2025 MoU between SALHOC and Banga Group to build 5,000 affordable homes across Sierra Leone. The formal contract signing is currently underway, marking a major step toward the commencement of construction.
Earlier this year, SALHOC officials visited Banga Group’s housing development in Niamey, Niger, to review the company’s capacity for large-scale residential projects.
SALHOC General Manager Mr. Joseph Munda Sandi emphasized that the project aligns with the Government of Sierra Leone’s Medium Term National Development Plan 2023–2028, which mandates the provision of housing for all citizens.
He noted that the initiative is a major step toward delivering affordable, decent, and sustainable homes across the country.
Banga Group Vice President Mr. Sow Taguiyoulaye dit Yero highlighted the company’s commitment to transforming communities through modern housing, using the success of the Niamey project as a model for Sierra Leone.
SALHOC Deputy General Manager Mr. Emmanuel Tommy stressed the project’s potential to uplift communities and provide long-term value, while Banga Group Local Representative Alhaji Ibrahim Conteh underscored the lasting legacy the housing development will create for generations.
The partnership is expected to significantly reduce Sierra Leone’s housing deficit and provide citizens with modern, affordable homes, marking a major milestone in the country’s housing development agenda.
