The long awaited Sierra Leone Premier League 2023/24 commences today, Friday 4rd November, 2023 with the opening match to be played between SLIFA FC  the (host ) and Diamond Start at Trade Center Filed in Freetown.

Diamond Starts, winner of the 2012/13 Premier League season from Kono, eastern province of Sierra Leone, are  set for another mouth-washing  encounter due to their good track-records over the years.

According to the Media Unit of Diamond Stars, the team is fully focused though there are growing challenges faced by the team especially in the area of transportation and mobilization of fans in a bid to support the team for a smooth victory.

“Last season was not good for us as an historical team in the Premier League, though there are new bloods in the square. We have made some slight changes in the area of transfer and signings of good players, “they said.

In another development, the old new boys RLIFA FC are in high sprit to face their counterpart in this year’s opener.

Inside sources have revealed that the RLIFA FC will be donor giver, based on their preparations especially in the area of finance and logistics for players and backroom staff.

Meanwhile, Real Republican FC will entertain LUAWA FC at Angola town in the municipality of Freetown. This derby match t is raising momentous heels in the minds of both fans of the teams.

However, the Media Department of the Sierra Leone Premier Board SLPLB, has confirmed that the preparations for this year’s campaign will be apt and awesome because they are expecting more support from donor partners and some big investors in order to be held the league to be run throughout this season.

“We do appreciate the effort of SLFA and Lone Rock for their timely intervention, we believe in their capacity and energy,” says PLB unit.
