Due to High Court order last month which demanded the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to acknowledge a ruling, the footballing body has pronounced the postponement of their Ordinary Congress, initially planned for the first week of July 2024.
The decision stems from a recent court case that led to the closure of the SLFA headquarters, and the decision was said to have hindered essential administrative preparations for the Congress.
The SLFA stressed its commitment to respecting the court’s ruling while working swiftly to resolve the situation. President Thomas Daddy Brima and the Executive Committee are actively seeking to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
A new date for the Ordinary Congress will be announced once the legal issue is settled.
SLFA members have been informed of the postponement.
The SLFA expressed appreciation for the understanding and patience of its members and the public during this challenging time.
They say they remain dedicated to promoting football development while upholding its integrity in Sierra Leone.
