It was very emotional at the Administrative Building in Parliament when the Deputy speaker who doubles as the Chairman of Public Account Committee in Parliament, Hon Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, as he called on the All People’s Congress (APC) and Sierra People’s Party (SLPP) to come together to prepare 30 years policy plan for the development of Sierra Leone.
According to Hon Tawa Conteh the policy to be prepared will let the people know if they are going change government the road that was started during the APC will be completed by the wining government with no change of policy.
He said it is because of politics that roads and some infrastructural projects don’t have substance.
He said like roads constructions, if the roads have economic value it will ensure the construction of another perfect roads.
He asked that Sierra Leoneans should re-position their mind and put first the country than politics.
He said every day civil servants are victims of politics and so revealed that the same Civil servants that are supporting APC government today all of them are SLPP members.
He said during the APC all of the civil servants were victimized during the APC and today they are SLPP and when APC had power all of the civil servants will say SLPP victimized them and because others are APC so they protect their jobs only.
“It is sad to see that while in a position politicians would gossip other politicians,” he said.
He further that people should see their work before promotion, adding people are in offices doing nothing but they want promotions.
The Speaker revealed that people should stop promoting or recruiting their families who are not capable in doing the jobs they are recruited for.
“There are people who qualify for promotion and some would look them into their eyes but instead promote their family members. This is sad,” he added.
Hon Tawa encouraged all Sierra Leoneans to think about the country, first than other interests.
