The Wise Bird loves to read newspapers, to listen to news on radio and many a time watches television (TV) and often goes to social media in order to get more news facts.

He does so for the people the bird represents not to lack of or short of news.

If, and only if what the Wise Bird has seen or read on newspapers or on social media is anything to go by then the brave bird would say categorically clear without hesitation that, Dr. Samura has failed himself, his party the APC, and largely the country as a whole.

According to what the bird has gathered from Dr. Samura’s speech that, the Tripartite Committee was for both the APC and the SLPP government, supported by the International Partners.

The bird also saw from the statement of Dr. Samura that, the APC, with some or almost all observers raised serious concerns about the election’s results of being bias, the bias was clearly shown then.

From the speech, the bird saw noticed how Dr. Samura said on page 53 of the report that the APC holds that, statistical inconsistencies called into questioning the results.

He further stated that, the battle for electoral justice must now be owned by all levels of leadership in the APC; it should not be forgotten that there are other important aspects of the Agreement for National Unity, which still remain unaddressed.

According to him, they include; the release of political prisoners, the removal of political motivated court cases presently in the courts and the safe return of all persons in exile for political reasons.

Dr. Samura spoke of a lot of other important issues relating to national peace, stability and unity in the country.

On this issue, the Wise Bird as usual went out to sound the views of people in respect of the speech Dr. Samura had made to address the nation.

All those the Wise Bird contacted expressed dismay over his signing of the report when he knew well that all of these concerns were not addressed by the Tripartite Committee.

Some members of the public accused Dr. Samura as one who represents failure in the APC party; he did not behave as an academic doctor, they say, to have signed a document that he did not read to his fingers tips. He was the same man who signed the party “peace deal’ prior to the elections’ announcement by N’fa Alie at the Bintumani Complex during 2018 elections.

One senior member of the Main opposition, the APC party, told the bird that Dr. Samura had been bought over by the SLPP because no one in his/her rightframe of mind would have expected a Doctor (PhD holder) to put his signature on paper or any document that he may not have read to his understanding and satisfaction.

 “Dr. Samura is making fool of himself as all the other concerns he has raised lately will never be addressed by the SLPP.”

“Because he has signed a document in support of the outcome of the said report,” the senior member said.

By the way, was Dr. Samura the appropriate person to have signed the report?

The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) will never adhere to any of those other concerns being lately raised by Dr. Samura.

They may say, we are setting-up a committee to look into those concerns by way of buying time to continue to hold on the power of trust.

The most respected, patriotic and uncompromising bird will want to see what the international partners will do in this case in order to bring back democracy.
