The oldest and most respected animal in this Kingdom has been reliably informed that, the long-awaited Ordinary Congress of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has been scheduled for Saturday April 5, 2025.
According to the information, Radisson Blu, former Mammy Yoko Hotel at Aberdeen, Freetown, has been tentatively chosen as the venue.
Bra Parrot has gathered that the delay for this all important event was caused by legal dispute with one of the football stakeholders, Tamba Gbetuwa Chairman of the Moyamba District Football Association who filed a case in court.
As required by the Sierra Leone Football Association, the Congress will cover important issues including but not limited to adopting a new version of the Association’s status and future steps in the interest of the development of sports in the country in general.
Latest development is that, the incumbent SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima is also seeking for another term in office.
Meanwhile, it is understood that, Bo Rangers FC Chairman Babadi Kamara is expected to challenge him strongly for the hot seat.
The wise bird like in many occasions also sounded the views of many football stakeholders and most of them expressed mixed reactions especially over the incumbency’s aspiration to run again, arguing that since he took over the administration of football in the country, everything came to a standstill.
Others are of the view that amidst the challenges, Birma has done a lot during his tenure as president.
Other football enthusiasts also expressed their strong support for Babadi Kamara with the high hope that if given the opportunity he will offer a lot towards football development in the country.
