This is the moment in the history of the Grand Old Party of Sierra Leone when history stood still and repeated itself.

The choice of leadership facing the Grand Old Party after the departure of the former leader and Chairman for life, former President Ernest Bai Koroma, is a real defining moment for the All People’s Congress Party (APC).

His departure symbolised a non- ideological leadership that contained a crisis of leadership’s vacuum and   succession within the party while grappling with forces of factional feud for the stability of the future of the party.

It seems as if without EBK, the APC party is in a total electoral oblivion, and he deserves an ignominious place in the anals of the party for his seemingly pathological misguidance of the party in it’s leadership choice

Is this the moment of the New APC  party democratic awakening? The quest for progress and stability is central to the  success of any political party, but as for the opposition APC party, it has completely lost its identity, and its leadership  vacuum has pursued tactics without any definitive strategy,  policies and any ideology for  modern day political concepts that will define where they are heading.

The Grand Old Party has been engulfed in an unending feud without any clue of understanding as disaster now envisaged  in the party.

The factional feud within the  party has malfunctioned and totally barricaded the culture of intellectual curiosity that party supporters and their membership can no longer comprehend.

With the dethroning of Ernest Bai Koroma as leader and chairman for life of the APC party, it’s clearly showing that, the Grand Old Party may well be consigned in the cockpit of opposition, and electoral wilderness.

Indeed  there is a sign of symptomatic defeat with a deeper malaise of political renaissance and an inability to acquire unity which has envisaged in the party.

It seems that, the Grand Old Party is now leaving the progressive politics behind with a paradoxical radical disposition.

As we all can understand, politics is also a tragedy as things don’t always work out for the better.

The grassroot generation within the APC party whom we referred to as the “prodigal Offspring”  have been yawning for a change and ran out of patience are now being  influenced by the reformers who are now desperate and in great pursuit of the wind of change.

The next leader of the APC party will be facing an unfinished daunting and haculian task. He has to equip the party with unified forces  wherein the old comforts of the Ernest Bai Koroma dynasty can no longer take the party   granted.

After the elections defeat in 2018, APC party was overwhelmed by factional abuse and their intellectual ambitions shrunk and the party can no longer offer any harbour in the storm. The party has hallowed out and is short of ideas and issues.

The four years in the cockpit of opposition have  been marred by false propaganda and gaffes which represent the plodding continuity of the same Old APC party that is needed for impetus.

The long standing leadership contention in the Grand Old Party has been embodied with factional camp that is making artifice out of the carnage of the supporters.

The old dynasty of EBK has undermined the trust and integrity in the APC party as the flourishing of Fake news and apocalyptic conspiracy movements have  become the order and the norm of the day.

Sierra Leoneans have witnessed a real drama of trial and tribulations from the hands of supporters of the Grand Old Party. The call for uninvited reforms in the party has threatened the unity within the APC party itself which has been disdainful to a  parochial nature of the Octogenarians.

Can history repeat itself for another election shock? It all remains to be seen as the cracks and crovasses are eminent in the Grand Old Party without any political campaign messages  on the platform.

With disaster looming within the party, and their destiny in the hands of chairman Alfred Peter Conteh,  the APC party is now left with no hope but humiliation at the coming general elections which will be a sad tragedy for the APC party the so- called “Party of Governance”.

The race to the count down is numbered and still no end in sight for the party, while the establishment of president Julius Maada Bio is busy implimenting more sustainable reforms in his reality checks even though his dogmatic economic hawkishness is really bad for the country; and frustrating to the living standard of the people of Sierra Leone which is dismally ambivalent, but yet, the beat goes on  and the heat is on the Grand Old Party.

Still the mission is unaccomplished as the tentative rescue mission man  is going through hell in the APC party, and he still keeps going.

Chairman Alfred Peter Conteh has battled constant prejudices throughout his mission in the APC party because he was regarded by some stakeholders as an unfit man.

But rightly or wrongly, he is a man of legacy within the APC party for chasing the untouchable big elephants out of the farm and becoming  the man who is holding their fate in his hands.

Indeed, this is a notable achievement by Chairman, Alfred Peter Conteh. But the big question now is, Can Chairman Alfred Peter Conteh have what it takes to deliver his huge risk-tasks  in the APC party?  A colossal waste of time and energy which could be seen by others as controlling the destiny of the party as the race to state House is numbered.

Long Live the of  Sierra Leone !
