The most respected animal will never relent when it comes to issues of national interests and the development of the country.
A lot of people including the brave bird have been talking about the deplorable condition of the Fourah Bay Road, the road when approaching the East End Police Station and beyond other areas.
By the look of things, it seems that all what has been said in respect of Fourah Bay Road and other roads in Freetown remake have felled on authorities’ deaf ears. The institution responsible and by extension the government is not serious about the development of our poor roads in the country.
The Wise Bird has noticed the fact that Sierra Leone being the only country where the power of an institution supersedes that of a sitting government.
Journalists including the Wise Bird, Civil Society Organizations and the general public have been intensifying pressures on those responsible for the poor construction of the Fourah Bay Road by East End police station in order to see reason to do the needful on that road by repairing it ; but up to date nothing is done to fix it.
The institution responsible for roads in the country (SLRA) does not care whether roads are up to standard or not.
Their ultimate aim is to collect monies from the roads maintenance funds to amass wealth overnight for themselves.
The safety of the people is not their concern as long as they are rich over-night, full stop. But the bird is watching them oh!
Even the dead, unborn child knows that, Fourah Bay Road when approaching the East End police is now a pool for people washing their feet, shoes and other things.
After the government had spent billions and billions of Leones for a poorly and uncompleted work there, tax payers’ cannot enjoy their money’s wealth.
The bird will continue to hit the nail on the head as long as it is for the betterment of Mama Salone. It will do so until something is done– the bird will not stop on this.
Is it the case the government is only waiting to see a very serious accident to happen on that road before an action will be taken and that time it will be too late. Maybe a life or two must have been lost, God have mercy!
The Wise Bird is not even talking about the one million plus portholes in the city.
Seeing these portholes, the Wise Bird starts to wonder whether the Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh monitors all the Ministries is aware of especially the deplorable condition of the Fourah Bay Road in the east of Freetown and other parts of the City.
If by all indications he is not aware, shame on him.
