Bai Burreh Warriors FC of Port Loko have secured their first victory in the ongoing 2024/25 Leone Rock Premier League season with a 4-1 goal score against Mighty Blackpool.
The match was held at New Port Loko Field, on February 13, and it saw an impressive performance from the Warriors, who managed to break their opponents’ winless streak with a dominant display.
The Warriors took control at early play registering a goal which came in the dying seconds of the first half. Mohamed S. Mansaray replaced Momoh Bangura before the 45-minute of play and it was his involvement that saw the breakthrough for them.
Capio Bangura earned a yellow card in the 42nd minute but redeemed himself by scoring at the 66th minute, doubling his side’s advantage. Koleko Prospeere added to the tally with a goal in the 60th minute of play, and Mohamed Kamara sealed the deal with a strike in the 67th minute, leaving the Mighty Blackpool side with little to respond.
Despite the valiants’, Mighty Blackpool, effort Bai Burreh Warriors showed resilience and skill by maintaining control of the game throughout.
With this crucial win, the Warriors are hoping to build on this momentum as the league progresses.
The match concluded with the Warriors taking home a 4-1 victory – – their first in the season– much to the delight of their supporters.
