As a peaceful and a respectable elderly statesman in this Republic, the wise bird has been getting sleepless nights since the ugly incident took place on Sunday night.

When Bra Parrot got the news about a COUP attempt in the country, he became unhappy over the issue which immediately reminded him of the eleven years of senseless brutal armed conflict which consequences Sierra Leoneans to this day have not come to terms with.

It is for this reason the peace loving citizen has condemned and will continue to condemn in its strongest possible terms any attempt by anybody to take us to those dark days.

When the news broke out of the coup attempt, there was pandemonium in the entire city, people running here and there for safety.

With anxiety the fearless bird was about to visit the area where the incident took place but because of fear he quickly took a back seat to avoid embarrassment or mistakenly killed by a stray bullet. 

But still wanting to know the fact, I mean the (correct and accurate information) about the ugly incident the brave bird instead decided to go to sound the views of people who were equally and eagerly out to know about the incident.

The first point of call was the national headquarters of the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). On arrival at the place, the Curious Bird met jubilant youths dancing in support of the outcome of the incident, but as the popular animal was about to be noticed he immediately flew to avoid being beating or molested by the suspicious angry but jubilant youths.

From that point, the Inquiry Bird went straight to the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party national secretariat on Railway Line, Brookfields to get their own views on the issue. On arrival Bra Parrot met a large crowd of people disclaiming the alleged coup attempt describing it as a stage managed by the SLPP because they knew that, the committee set up by the international community will start its work on Monday and do not want it to take off the ground in a bid to disturb the process.

Others alleged that because they, the SLPP believed that they have killed a good number of political detainees and will not be able to account for them if the list is submitted for their release that is why they deliberately decided fake themselves.

The question the wise bird is asking is that when will the committee starts its work now that this ugly situation is on ground?

Anyway, I am only raising concern but everything is left with parties concerned and those who mediated the recent dialogue and recommended for the setting up of the said committee.
