The Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Tunis, has endorsed the bid of the Sierra Hash House Harriers and Harriettes (Sierra H4) to host the Pan African Hash 2027.
This endorsement came as Sierra H4, the fastest-growing Hash Kennel in Sub-Saharan Africa, gears up to participate and represent Sierra Leone in the PAH 2025 in Accra, Ghana, from 19th to 21st September 2025.
Recently, the Ministry of Tourism and Sierra H4 signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a strategic partnership wherein Sierra H4 will serve as an official and long-term ambassador for Sierra Leone’s tourism and cultural sector within the global Hash House Harriers community.
“This collaboration aims to enhance Sierra Leone’s international visibility, attract diverse tourist segments, foster cultural exchange, and secure opportunities for hosting prestigious international events, all in accordance with the Ministry’s strategic objectives,” says Bilal Bah, Grandmaster of Sierra H4.
In a letter addressed to the Grand masters of PAH, Minister Nabeela Tunis stated that Sierra Leone, through the vibrant and ever-growing Sierra H4 Kennel is fully prepared, equipped and honoured to host PAH 2027.
The letter further highlighted the warmth, beauty and unforgettable legendary hospitality as well as the landscapes, beaches, and a deep cultural celebration. Also, the Ministry informed Hashers of the safety, security, tourism infrastructure, plus affordable hotels, modern venues, and exceptional services that make Sierra Leone an ideal destination for an event of this magnitude in Freetown and its surroundings.
The Pan African Hash brings together hundreds of hashers from all over Africa and other parts of the world. Therefore, Sierra H4 hosting this event in Sierra Leone will contribute to the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs’ efforts to make Sierra Leone a prominent tourist destination worldwide.
