Senegal and Sierra Leone concluded with a 1-1 draw after 90 intense minutes, with both teams converting one clear scoring opportunity before cancelling each other out for a share of the points.
The match was considered by strong protective displays and physical midfield battles, resulting in a low-scoring but tightly contested affair.
While their forwards created good opportunities, they notably failed to convert a crucial chance in the final minutes that could have sealed a win. Senegal’s efforts were anchored by a solid defensive performance and an outstanding display from the goalkeeper, which kept them competitive for most of the match.
Head Coach Dominic John Konneh said, “We came here for three points, but it didn’t work out. Our focus now is on Mauritania a must-win game.
