Thirty-eight years old Alex Dumbuya, a businessman made another appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on two count charges to wit conspiracy to defraud contrary to law and obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on a date unknown between the 1st to 31st April 2024 in Freetown with intent to defraud conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit obtaining money by false pretences

Count two further stated that on the same date and place the accused with intent to defraud obtained the sum of one hundred and thirty three thousand five hundred Leones (NLe133,500) from Esther Finda Gbetuwah by falsely pretending that he has one sport edition vehicle for sale knowing same to be false.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea taken.

The prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Florence M. Wilson sought for a short adjournment date because her witness was absent.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah refused bail based on the seriousness of the offence charged and sent the accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown.Matter adjourned to 20th June, 2025.
