On 21/5/2025, the Western Area Rural District Council initiated the construction of the main road leading to the council, marking a significant development in the Waterloo area. This vital route serves as a key connection between the Waterloo Police Division, the District Health Medical Team (DHMT) office, and the NASSIT office, facilitating essential access for the community.
Chernor Juldeh Bah, the IEC officer of the Western Area Rural District Council, underscores the project’s importance and its anticipated positive impact on local residents. He recalled that the previous chairmen, Alieu Badara Mansaray and Alhassan Cole, were unable to undertake the development of this important road. However, under the current leadership of Chairman Kasho J. Holland Cole, the construction is finally underway, representing a long awaited improvement for the region.
The completion of this road is expected to enhance transportation efficiency, improve access to crucial services, and ultimately foster economic growth within Waterloo. The council’s commitment to infrastructural development reflects its dedication to addressing the needs of the community and promoting sustainable progress.
