The Director of Operations for the Sierra Leone Police, Assistant Inspector General Mohamed Alieu Braima Jah has warned that the police is still on alert by closing monitoring the post-election environment in the country.
Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday 5th July, 2023 at the police national headquarters, press conference room, AIG Braima Jah disclosed that they received congratulatory message from the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) on how well they policed the just concluded multi-tier elections.
According to the Director of Operations, there was a concerted effort of the police during the pre-election period and on the day of the elections, adding that despite challenges with some isolated cases.
He applauded the security sector by stating that they did a very job and did not fall foul of any vehicular movement as it was policed well.
