Wonders, they say, shall never end. Such is the news the oldest animal in this kingdom has heard that the weakest opposition has demanded the government to probe the erstwhile Ambassador to Guinea.

Bra Parrot considers the request as the joke of the Millennium, considering the fact that, there are other critical and compelling issues to deal with like the ever increasing prices of essential commodities including the country’s staple food than matter which the creatures in the kingdom have since forgtten.

As usual, the wise bird receives outpour of by messages from the public to get the true story on the issue.

The Parrot consider this demand still as a joke because for the leader of the main opposition Hon. Abdul Kargbo to call on the government and by extension the President to mount an investigation on ex-Ambassador Alimamy Bangura which they would done long ago when the issue was fresh doesn’t really make sense at this present time.

Of course, the bird knows the matter as important given the fact that it hinges on the reputation of this republic and in fact if the matter is proved to be true, it will not only damage to country’s reputation, but will be a violation of the international drug law under the Vienna Convention and Protocols.

It’s unimaginable to arrest our embassy vehicle with cocaine and cash in it. It’s a shame and disgrace to the highest degree,  because the damage is very colossal.

Of course, Bra Parrot himself is in support of the investigation of the recalled Ambassador with strong recommendations to make sure that no Ambassador or indeed any official carrying the country’s flag repeat same, so that it will serve as a deterrent.

The report went further to say that, if the government takes the action towards the recalled Ambassador it will go a long way to vindicate the government as to what happened in Guinea.

The only thing, if the opposition was serious and strong enough, it would have put the government on its toes at the time when the incident happened. But usai brown envelop dae ha, ha, ha!

As usual, the veteran information gatherer went out to sound the views of people on the issue because he has no monopoly over information.

According to them, the government, just like the opposition, is weak to address serious matters and that they always take reactive than proactive measures.

They said they would have done what they are doing now long before this time by forcing the government to act with matter of urgency.

They described the opposition as a weak and toothless bull dog that barks but does not bite. They people said a responsible opposition has a lot of important issues to deal with that will benefit the people and develop the country in general but because of selfishness, they too have failed the people.

The most respected animal himself is not happy with the opposition because they have failed to talk when to talk and failed to act when to act.

Bra Parrot has also been informed that some senior members in the opposition allegedly visit some government ministers and even president at his home at night. What a shame!

Their failure to challenge government on critical issues gives credence to old adage that “one cannot bite the finger that feeds him.”

The bird is watching to see whether the investigations will hold.
