Bra Parrot is not as old as people think the wise bird is. Only that, the bird has lived a little longer on planet-earth.
The wise bird has witnessed the good, the bad and the ugly. So plus-minus, the wise bird has seen it all, politics, the economy and other social activities.
Bra Parrot could vividly remember the days of late President Siaka P. Stevens who used to say ‘bar-na-too line aa.’ Late President Joseph Saidu Momoh was very bold to have told to the people of Sierra Leone to forgive him as he has failed the nation.
Valentine Strasser and colleagues after successful overthrow of the APC suspended the national Constitution.
Later, his right hand man, the current president Maada Bio staged a palace coup and removed him.
Late President Alhaji Ahmad Tejan Kabba could be remembered when said “Salone man get bad heart.”
Ex-President Ernest Bai Koroma during his tenure said that “desperate situation needs desperate measures.”
Meanwhile, the present President has said “We nor dae kill posin again, we don open the political space.”
The wise bird has taken careful time to compare all the statements made by our past and the sitting President to measure which one has more weight.
The wise bird did not do his findings in isolation. As usual, the peaceful animal went out to get the views of people in respect of the statements made by the Presidents of yesterdays and the current.
First, Bra Parrot visited few Law firms for better interpretation of all the statements made by these leaders.
Almost all the people the wise bird contacted expressed similar sentiments about the weight of the words and actions of the presidents.
At the conclusion of the hectic exercise, Bra Parrot came to the conclusion that, the statement ‘We nor dae kill posin again, we don open the political space,’ carries more weight as it deals with human lives.
The wise bird is advising all those in authority to be very careful in making public statements as people always hold them by their words and deeds.
The word killing carries heavy explanation and understanding.
