An alert mind always does not fail to notice a change, whether good or bad, in both moral and intellectual sides of social life.

The people of Sierra Leone indeed wanted a change of government but not this Paopa kind under the current President, Maada Bio.

The rate at which the people of Sierra Leone are suffering cannot be overemphasized, given that despite the endowment of natural resources, people are still wallowing in abject poverty.

In less than four months in office under the new political dispensation of President Maada Bio, situation has just continued to worsen for the already impoverished people.

Added to the untold suffering, there is absolutely no peace and tranquillity in our beloved nation.

What seems to have aggravated the situation though is the seeming clandestine ways in which some SLPP members are amassing (kapu kapu) wealth within this second and final five years in office which by every indication is significantly detrimental to the tiny nation and its population.

This suffering is sure to continue on a daily basis if nothing is done to address it owing to the new appointments the president continues to make with blatant disregard to the ramification of the country’s crippling economy.

As recent as yesterday, the President made two new appointments for the positions of an adviser to the Gender sector and Adviser to youth sector respectively, all at the detriment of the staggering economy.

As usual, the poor masses have to pay the price for all these appointments even though they are not in any way going to benefit directly.

With the SLPP in power, corruption seems have been institutionalised with its acclaimed fight a mere lip service. Lawlessness, hardship, greed and lack of respect for political opponents have become the order of the day.

There is no gainsaying that the hierarchy of the SLPP have little or no respect for the people of Sierra Leone. Say what you may, Sierra Leoneans deserve some amount of respect.

It is no secret that, the development of a nation can only be determined when the welfare of its citizenry is properly addressed by those in power. But this is not the case of this regime.

Judging from the current happenings, it is apparent that President Bio is working with bunch of people who do not have the interest of the country at heart.

So patriotic Sierra Leoneans want to know the way out of this current quagmire the country has find itself, noting that their children are sure to hold those in authority accountable at the appropriate time.
