The Wise Bird saw it all coming and that was why on the 9th August 2024 the Wise Bird in one of his articles asked a question, “WHEN WILL THE APC COME TOGETHER”?

As if the bird knew what was coming, on the 10th August 2024 the former chairman of the ITGC, Mr. Alfred Peter Conteh, issued out a public statement referring to the current elected National Secretary General Mr. Lansana Dumbuya as a de-facto Secretary General of the APC party.

After a good look at the statement of Mr. Conteh, the brave bird noticed that, Mr. Conteh did not cite any portion in the National Constitution or the APC party’s Constitution to substantiate his claim.

The bird also noticed from his statement that, the very had also claimed to be the current Chairman of the APC party and ITGC, and he further qualified his statement by saying he is the legitimate Chairman of the party.

The question the Wise Bird is asking is that, what makes Mr. Conteh’s chairmanship to be legitimate as he had claimed to have voted during the last convention?

The current Secretary General and the entire executive he was referring to as de-facto were elected in a convention which is the highest body in the party.

Mr. Conteh cited paragraph 90.10 which according to him (Mr. Conteh) was placed on hold via an interlocutory injunction.

The Wise Bird is not a lawyer, but is well educated to understand simple English of whatever form it is written.

The bird noticed that, Mr. Conteh had attempted to give a definition of the word interlocutory injunction, and the person he referred to as being a  de-facto Secretary General is a lawyer, and the secretary will be in a better place to explain what interlocutory injunction is.

As usual the bird did not know it all, so he went out to sound the views of people from all walks of life.

All those the most respected bird came in contact with had described Mr. Alfred Peter Conteh as an operative of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

Others are praying for the matter not to go to a court level; knowing the court system as they know it.

If that happens, APC is in trouble and the executive and by extension and even the entire party will be restrained from holding all political activities.

Some people have alleged that, the court is directly under the supervision of the present system of government and that they can do anything in their powers to continue to stay in power.

One senior citizen the bird spoke with also has described Mr. Conteh as an enemy of the party, coming only in the APC to further continue to divide the party.

What actually the bird did not understand is that, if the matter before the High Court of Sierra Leone was pending and no judgment was handed down, why the party was allowed to hold a convention to elect a new executive to run the affairs of the party?

What the brave bird has suspected is that, this is a game plan by people; there are people behind the scene assisting Mr. Conteh. Alas APC!
