If the report the wise bird has received is anything to go by, then, all is not going well for the two time presidential hopeful and leader of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party, Dr. Samura Kamara.

Quite apart from his isolation by the party in his sole struggle for Electoral Justice after the 2023 general elections, his problems now seem to have compounded by his alleged replacement as Chief negotiator in the ongoing committee for peace with one of the party’s senior bigwigs Dr. Keifala Marrah.

As of now, the Parrot has not been provided with any reason(s) why Dr. Samura Kamara was replaced.

However, it’s mooted from the corridors of the APC that the decision was part of the effort to further strengthen the negotiation strategy.

What the bird did not understand is, the same Dr. Kaifala Marrah who was a member of the tripartite committee where all the decisions they took at the time were nothing to write home about, is the same Dr. Marrah who has been appointed again.

So what the APC and its anxious supporters expect to gain from his reappointment? But that is their sole business because many creatures in this kingdom know APC is not a serious opposition as they are not working in the interest of the people.

The agreement for National Unity was signed in October 18th 2023 between the government of Sierra Leone and the main opposition APC after the 2023 general elections which outcomes the latter refused to accept.

The Committee, from what Bra Parrot has gathered was primarily setup for the implementation of inter-party dialogue framework to foster peace, avoid boycott and to improve trust among the parties.

At the conclusion of the tripartite Committee work, it identified about 86 critical issues of which Dr. Marrah was part but accept the wrong decisions for obvious reasons at the detriment of his very party.

He and other members of APC in the committee absent mindedly accepted the proposal to present the committee report to the President for review and there the whole thing started to go wrong.

As usual, the wise bird spoke to a lot of people about the reappointment of Dr. Marrah to be part of the strategic committee for the implementation of the recommendation of the tripartite committee and all those he talked to were against the decision of his reappointment as chief negotiator. They expressed fear that nothing good will come out of it.

“There are more qualified people in the APC so why Dr. Marrah again,” the people questioned rhetorically, noting that they are expecting nothing but the same rubbish they got at the end of the tripartite committee’s work.

The latest development clearly indicates that in the current APC everybody has his/her own vested interest in the leadership of the party.

Like the wise bird, the people advised all to wait and see what will be the outcome of the committee’s work.
