One of Sierra Leone’s leading telecommunications companies, Africell mobile company has through its financial service sector, Afrimoney, in partnership with the Electricity distribution supply authority (EDSA) launched its new product called ‘Tros EDSA and Pay later’ on Friday 28th April, 2023 at their Africell Headquarters on Wilberforce.
Speaking during the launch, the Managing Director of Afrimoney, Martison Obeng Agyei told journalists and participants present that during the past 12 months Africell mobile company has given new stuffs to Sierra Leoneans and their customers through Afrimoney, adding that the new product launched in partnership with EDSA is the first of its kind and it is about empowering and giving convenience to their Afrimoney customers. He described the new product as an electronic independence which is giving the opportunity to their Afrimoney customers to ‘TROSS EDSA’ as and when they needed it the most and pay within 24hours.
Martison Obeng Agyei stated that all their Afrimoney customers need to do is to dial *161*2*2# and send the code which is cost free, adding that Afrimoney is giving the life when it is needed the most and giving freedom to Sierra Leoneans to enjoy Afrimoney during the rains and dries. “All you need to do is to get your Africell sim and register for Afrimoney,” he concluded.
The Chief Finance Officer of Electricity distribution supply authority, Mustapha Sannoh described the new product launched as a novelty, adding that EDSAs objective is to increase the space of energy and access to electricity 24 hours. He said Africell via its Afrimoney service is aggregating the financial market and he is exceedingly gratified.
He assured that EDSA is looking out for more innovation as they continue to partner moving forward with Africell through Afrimoney.
