In a bid to meeting international standard in contemporary soccer, the government of Sierra Leone has guaranteed pre-eminent preparation and absolute willingness to Leone Stars, going forward into the 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa Qualifiers.
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) with support from the government has successfully concluded arrangements for two friendly matches in Casablanca Morocco against Benin and Somalia on the 14th and 17th of October 2023 respectively.
The said friendlies will help the newly appointed technical team Amidu Karim and backroom staff to better understand and bring in players that are formidable with the squad against Ethiopia and Egypt in this year’s World Cup qualifiers in November this year.
Though, as it stands, football pundits in the country are in doubt of the current appointment of Coach Amidu Karim and team.
