It has reached our desk that that members of the Everybody Must Farm Organization in the Kenema district, Eastern Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone have declared their preparedness to be trained by the International Labour Organization of The United Nations through the GET-Ahead training program that is geared towards educating farmers about legal structures, access to finance, growing of food crops on the right soil, proper storage, processing, transportation, packaging, and marketing for profit making.
According to the Regional Coordinator of EMF, Victoria Bockarie, the five days GET-Ahead training workshop that will take place in Kenema town in the Kenema District that will commence from 30th January, 2023 to 3rd February, 2023, will serve as an opportunity to her farmers especially in Kenema district.
Bockarie furthered that profit making investment in the agriculture sector, food insufficiency, food insecurity and joblessness among the youth especially the women and persons with disability has been a serious problem in the country and that the intervention of the ILO building quality education among farmers is a welcoming support.
She disclosed that numbers of heads of farmers groups of the EMF are raining at her office pleading to be part of the EMF team and the upcoming GET-Ahead training.
Victoria Bockarie assured the ILO of EMF fullest cooperation about every activity as partners of development in the eastern region of Sierra Leone.
