The leading mobile company in the country Orange SL has set another landmark by recently opening its Orange money Headquarters at Hill Station opposite Presidential Lodge and adjacent NATCOM.
The opening ceremony of the Orange money Headquarters took place on Tuesday 13th December 2022.
In his opening remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Money David Mansaray stated that he joined the financial mobile service of Orange SL after leaving his job with the Standard Chartered Bank.
The CEO of Orange Money David Mansaray explained after joining the financial service of Orange he noticed that that were lapses which existed in the financial sector. He said a number of residents in the country were unable to access finance and a risk in money transaction as people were carrying huge amount of money from one destination to another.
David Mansaray furthered that despite there were Banks in existence but they were not operating in most part of the country because of the impeding cost such moves will impose on the commercial Banks, adding that through the intervention of Orange Money transaction of electronic cash is made easy and simple.
He said many Sierra Leoneans who were unable to have Bank accounts and those who find it very difficult to access cash in remote areas preferred to join Orange Money as the company have its agents all over the country including remote areas, adding that bank customers thought it very fit to start doing their monetary transaction with leading electronic money institution.
According to the CEO of Orange Money many Sierra Leoneans noticed out that Orange Money is safe, free of risk and easier to access than from their bank accounts.
He disclosed that as Orange Money blossoms they are currently having partnership with 8 banks as customers of these banks can easily and safely access their account through the use of their mobile phones by the wallet to bank and bank to wallet service, adding that customers can do financial transactions with their phones to pay for service and goods.
David Mansaray said that Orange Money has been able to render financial services in remote areas in the country and enhanced financial inclusion of the government. He noted that they also established ties with big institutions by enabling residents to do transaction via Orange Money which he said led to an increase in partnership with financial remittances abroad.
He commended the Bank of Sierra Leone for their enormous support and customers for patronizing with the financial sector of Orange SL while thanking his Orange Money staff for relentless and unflinching hardwork throughout the years.
Giving his keynote speech the Chief Executive Officer of Orange mobile company Sekou Bah disclosed that Orange Money was established in 2016.
Sekou Bah stated that technology has enhanced innovative ideas in the electronic mobile money transaction and has deepened financial inclusivity.
He said technology has also enhanced the issues of access to financial services and this he said has broken the digital divide.
Sekou Bah stated that up to 70% of men and 75% of women that were not having any bank accounts are now accessing Orange Money services, adding that the financial service has over one million customers with about 12,000 agents all over the country.
He said Orange Money will continue to comply with the financial conducts governing their operations while extending appreciation to the Orange Money staff and partners for their contribution in the growth of the financial service Orange SL.
Sekou Bah assured that Orange Money will continue to soar while thanking the Central Bank for their oversight.
