The November 2nd meeting between the ruling SLPP and the main opposition APC at the latter’s party office at Old Railway Line, Freetown was like a jamboree for both of them. The atmosphere was climaxed with endless smiles and laughter from the red and green members which symbolized the presence of total peace and tranquility in the country.
To those who were opportune to witness the scene, was enough for them to learn a moral lesson to give testimony to their loved ones, families and well-wishers that politics is a different game and politicians are entirely different people that if you are not part of them you should know your limit when dealing with them especially during electioneering process. Because they know our weaken points and they will always give us the language that will put us apart so that they will be able to tread on us to get what they want. How long have the gullible and ignorant supporters of these two main political parties have been fighting themselves, nursing acrimonies, discord and any other hatred minds for their brothers and sisters for them to get power. And now that the game is over, we have remained with all the problems and colossal lost in materials and lives; what a fools we are!
Take it or leave it!, the day Sierra Leoneans will come to their senses that our politicians are not better than us they will stop misusing and abusing us and Serra Leone will fast become one of the best countries in the world.
The fact remains that one of the factors that is responsible for our setback is bad political leadership. And until that problem is ratified, we will continue to wallow in poverty because majority of the citizens have interest in their political parties than the country. It is sacrosanct that no matter SLPP stays in power the next political party that will succeed is APC. And both their frontrunners know the worth of ruling us as masters instead of being our servants to serve us and receive salaries from us for their services. If our politicians really mean good for this country, they should introduce political education policies for citizens and transmit or teach people in all of their local languages in the country.
