Reports reaching this medium last night indicate that the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) has ordered squatters to leave the military barracks with immediate effect.
The public announcer at the Wilberforce Barracks said all civilians above eighteen years old, and those who are no longer serving military personnel must quit the barracks at once.
The barracks information announcer insisted that failure by this people to do so be followed with a stiff reaction from the authorities.
The notice which has been circulating in the entire barracks within the last couple of days has sought to make sure that only military personnel and their children below eighteen years should stay in the barracks.
With the document also noting insistently that any civilian above eighteen must find another place.
It is not immediately clear in the notice when the following persons should leave the barracks.
But sources close to few of the barracks in Freetown say sqatters have been given one week before the deadline will elapse or failing to evacuate from the places they may face serious action.
It could be recalled that this is not the first time the military has been ordering people of such category [ squatters] to vacate the barracks, a statement said.
“This has nothing to do with politics. This is a routine exercise aimed at removing illegal occupants from the barracks,” a senior military officer also added.
