Inspector General of Police (IGP) William Fayia Sellu has expressed his appreciation to the media for their unweaving support in the fight against the Kush rampant in the country.
He made the appreciations on 2nd April, 2024 during a town hall meeting organized by the Ministry of Information and Civil Education (MoICE) at the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown.
He emphasized that the media played a pivotal role in the kush fight.
And so he encouraged every Sierra Leone to furnish them with any relevant information relating to Kush trace.
He said the SLP as the law enforcement agency are willing and ready to push the fight as they are committed and devoted to wiping it out in the country.
IGP Sellu confirmed that they had arrested and apprehended two containers.
Both containers he said, were unloaded when caught by the police.
The United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator, Nadia Rasheed called on the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party SLPP to empower young people through education to be able to make informed decisions.
She said engaging in critical response approach and community mobilization drive are another ways to eradicate Kush in Sierra Leone.
Nadia Rasheed pledged their support and encouraged Sierra Leoneans to count on them for their support in the fight against Kush.
“We believe that working together can bring a winning in the fight,” she concluded.
