Raymond Fangawa, a driver has made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown.
He was standing on a count of larceny as contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on a date between 1st to 29th February 2024 at Back of President Lodge, Hill station in the mountain rural district, West of Freetown, he did steal by trick one blue black Samsung A03 android mobile phone valued four thousand five hundred Leones(4,500) which was owned by one Aiah Sandy Morsay.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Dpc 18325 Thoronka K.K told the magistrate there were no available records against the accused person whilst the accused person was unrepresented by legal counsel. And he pleaded with the bench to temper justice with mercy. Due to the plea of mitigation by the accused person not to waste the court time, and so magistrate Bangura sentenced the accused person to two years and six months imprisonment to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
