Truth, they say, is a bitter pill very hard to swallow but very effective to cure or heal.
In fact this wise saying has reminded the oldest and the wisest bird of what two of our honourable lawmakers said about the very institution they are serving for being corrupt.
But interestingly, these two fearless men like the Brave Parrot himself, were immediately lambasted and humiliated by their own leadership accusing them of bringing the name of the House into disrepute.
Even though they had earlier stood their grounds they were however forced to apologise.
What has interest the Patriotic Bird more to follow the unfolding scenario in Parliament with every vigour and interest, is not because of the sake of its name but importantly because it is one of the three arms of government and largely the important functions it performs of making law.
Truth to say, what has happened in that honourable House for one of the most senior members who is the Clerk of Parliament Hon. Paran Tarawally to employ his own wife Abibatu Paran Tarawally (Mrs) is a naked corruption in its entirety. In fact, they must be held in custody while their investigation continues at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
For Hon. Tarawally to hire his own wife and receiving salary without work is quite incredible.
But this is Sierra Leone where public officials use to siphon government funds and go scot free.
Levelling punishment on these state criminals is something the Patriotic animal has never imagined, not even in his wildest dreams because it has ever remain a BUFF CASE.
You see, I have not even done talking I have just heard information that both of the accused husband and wife have been released by ACC. Another buff case!
Imagine a man who is now at the center of the debate or controversy was the same man who after his colleagues made the revelation about corrupt practices in parliament was shouting at the rooftop coercing them to apologise or resign because the statement didn’t go down well with some of them.
But today they have been proven right.
So in this case, Paran should not be allowed to resign but forced to do so with immediate effect and without benefit.
Following intense investigation, the anxious Parrot has just learnt that Abibatu Paran Tarawally (Mrs) has not only admitted committing the offense but has already started to pay back all the money (ies) she received as salaries since she was hired by her husband as Human Resource Officer in Parliament.
It’s quite unbelievable that, Abibatu was receiving a gross salary of Le 31, 735, 839 old Leones with medical, rent and utility allowances for virtually not doing anything.
With the latest unfolding developments and judging from what Hon. Tawa and Hon. Gevao had earlier revealed, the wise bird can safely say that there was and still corruption in Parliament.
Having made that statement, the two legislators were forced to apologize to Parliament for allegedly putting the House into disrepute according to the leadership of Parliament at the time.
If we are to take the current Speaker by his words that WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND, then Parliament should also apologize to the two Parliamentarians directly or indirectly, just like they did when they were charged for their action.
