Prince Demby, a tricycle rider, has made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road court No.2 in Freetown.
He was standing on two count charges ranging from obtaining money by false pretences as contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Thursday 1st February 2024, on PWD Pademba road in Freetown, with intent to defraud, he obtained the sum of six thousand eight hundred Leones(6,800) from Emmanuel Kpaka by falsely pretending that he had six tricycles (Kekeh) for sale knowing same to be false.
Count two further stated that the accused person on the above date and place with intent to defraud also obtained the sum of six thousand eight hundred Leones(6,800) from Emmanuel Kpaka by falsely pretending that he have six tricycles (Kekeh) for sale knowing same to be false.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person on his first appearance, he pleaded not guilty.
After several adjournment dates the prosecutor failed to bring her witnesses in court and due to that Magistrate Bangura discharged the matter as pursuant to section 94 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
