Ahead of the CAF Woman’s Championship, double winners of the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League, Mogbwemo Queens, are intensifying their training session ahead of the CAF Women’s Championship, scheduled for August 2-22, 2024.
Mog Queens are from Rutile, eastern province of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The competition will be hosted at the Southern Arena Stadium in Bo city.
Meanwhile, Mogbwemo Queens Media unit say they have signed two foreign players: Nadi Quade, an attacking midfielder from Guinea-Bissau, and Ghanaian-born attacker Ativor Holali. Mogbwemo Queens is the first club from Sierra Leone to participate in the CAF Women’s Championship twice. They made their debut in the race in Liberia after winning the 2022/23 Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League title last season. They will appear again in this year’s CAF Women’s Championship after clinching the league title undefeated.
According to Mogbwemo Queens’ head coach, Adama Suma, last year’s CAF Championship appearance was a learning process for the team, as it was the first time a Sierra Leonean female team to have participated in such a tournament.
