Prosecution Witness number nine (PW9) Inspector Abdul Karim Vangahun identified 6 female dresses and panties, breast wear including 1 Samsung mobile phone, 1 bedspread and 2 pillow cases handed over to him during the cause of investigation which he said were obtained from the residence of the accused which are properties belonging to the deceased.
As a normal practice, he said he handed over the mobile phone belonging to the accused to the Cyber Unit.
Additionally, the witness said he received downloaded footages from a CCTV camera which had been in the custody of the police.
The witness had told the court that while investigating the matter, he contacted the Shuman hospital among other parties relevant to the case and that the accused was confronted with pieces of evidence pertinent to the matter.
PW9 told the court that in one of the videos shown in court, the accused was in a vehicle with registration number ABV 410, arrived at the hospital around 6:55PM with his caretaker and armed police personnel and were helped by a nurse at the Shuman hospital to remove the now deceased Sinnah Kai Kargbo from the black Jeep into the hospital.
Sinnah was transferred from the Jeep to a wheelchair and then a stretcher with which they took her into the hospital helpless.
Inspector Vangahun said subsequent videos have shown that the deceased, Sinnah Kai Kargbo was attended to by medics at the intensive care unit (ICU) in the early morning hours of 16th October 2022 by first trying to ascertain if whether there was life. He then said that at about 7:14am, the videos showed that the patient was taken out of the ICU.
He said that the accused who was wearing slippers, black trouser and polo was seen very tormented and confused in the videos.
The witness tendered a black long dress which he said was identified by the accused as what deceased wore on the date of the incident.
In his statement to the police, the accused said he had for a long time known one Fatmata who is currently at large as his friend and to that of the deceased.
Cross examined by Roland Wright, PW9 said the dresses were discovered in the other room of the accused and that when confronted with the items, he said they were dresses of other ladies who were coming to his house.
Lead Defense Counsel, Roland Wright stated that the said dresses which had no bearing with the case before the court was for a mere sensation rather than as evidence.
Asked if given the opportunity to produce the call log he repeatedly mentioned as communication between the accused and other persons whom are alleged to have conspired to pervert justice, the witness said he will endeavor.
The matter was adjourned to 13th February, 2023.
