The acting, Chairperson for the Coordinating Mechanism in Sierra Leone, Mary Rogers, has said in Freetown that Sierra Leone has received a grant of over one hundred and seventy million United States dollars from Global Fund to fight malaria, tuberculosis and HIV illnesses.
“The project seeks mainly to provide services for those affected by these diseases. You have some Organizations that are working on fighting malaria, tuberculosis and HIV. The grant is one hundred and seventy six million, four hundred and forty four thousand five hundred and sixty (US$176,444,560) from the Global Fund,” she said, adding that the three years project will start in July 2024 and ends in July 2027.
She called on all Organizations that will be implementing the project to do the right thing so that the people of Sierra Leone will benefit. She expressed the hope that the project will reduce the rate of affected persons after the completion of the project.
In his contribution, the Country Director of World Vision said his Organization is one that will be implementing the project. He assured the government and people of Sierra Leone that the grant will definitely benefit the right people.
