Five Sierra Leoneans youths between the ages of fifteen and seventeen have reportedly escaped the country after being declared wanted by the police and the State of Sierra Leone for their involvement in the August 10th, 2022 ill-fated demonstration against the government.
Government had viewed the demonstration as an insurrection aiming to undermine state security and therefore did not take it kindly with those involved.

One of the wanted person(s) is Magdalene Lansana, a class six (6) pupil from the Kenema District School, who had escaped from a forced early teenage marriage to a chief in Kenema district where she suffered significantly in the hands of her imposed husband including persistent sexual harassment, rape and other ill-treatments.

Sources say, when Magdalene Lansana escaped from his monster husband; she came down to Freetown to stay with her uncle and aunty where she attended the Kankaylay Islamic Secondary School Kissy, in Freetown.
Unfortunately though, her uncle started receiving death threat from the police because of his relationship with one social media blogger, Hassan Dumbuya aka Evangelist Sampson who was a staunch supporter of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) and a civil right activist who lived in Makeni, Bombali district, northern Sierra Leone.

Evangelist Sampson was brutally murdered in the August 10, 2022 protest by unknown assailants in unclear circumstances.
Sources added that, five youths namely Saidu Turay, Musa Bangura, Abu Sesay, Fatmata Kamara and Magdalene Lansana all joined the August 10, 2022 protest.

They were visibly seen calling on other protesters chanting for the removal of the president. An action that was deemed as an insurrection against the State of Sierra Leone that caused total disruption of peace and tranquility.
When the intended peaceful protest at some point turned violent, the armed police officers allegedly shot into the crowd, killing some protesters.
The protesters in retaliation also nabbed some police officers and killed them in despicable manner.
Following that sad incident, the police embarked on massive arrest. However sources say, Saidu Turay, Musa Bangura, Abu Sesay, Fatmata Kamara and Magdalene Lansana were fortunate to escape but among those declared wanted by the state following an investigation.
Since that day, Saidu Turay, Musa Bangura, Abu Sesay, Fatmata Kamara and Magdalene Lansana had lived in perpetual fear for their lives, believing that if they are arrested they will face severe consequences.
Sources have suggested that these teenagers now fear to return home given that their safety is no longer guaranteed.
A bounty reward of NLe100m has been allocated by the State for anyone that will provide tangible information leading to the exact whereabouts of all of them.
