As technology education is now the global trend for quality education in the country.
EDU-CAID Sierra Leone a nongovernmental organization stated it operation over twenty-three year ago, has completed their supported to eighty-six (86) primary schools in the north east and north western region in the country, providing over ten thousands compacts android tablets full of learning materials for primary level, boosting the educational system in the province.
In an interview with one of the staff of the organization who also double as cluster mentor for the five supporting schools which are among the eighty six schools that benefited from the project at the Roman Catholic primary School, Konta Kuma in the Masimera Chiefdom PortLoko, District, Mr Idris. M. Kanu said that EDU – CAID Sierra Leone as an educational institution was established in 2000, by one Madam Mirian Manson, adding her hard working humanitarian woman who believes in developing the mindset of Sierra Leonean children through education, whose primary focus is to Promote educational activities in the country.
According to Mr. Kanu the organization major objective is to established educational institutions including boarding homes with credible facilities and good functioning areas with standard headquarters base in PortLoko city, northwestern region.
He further says that the organization was affording free education for all Edu-CAID Schools, free lodging, feeding including other basic and learning materials for their kids both primary and secondary levels.
However, he said that, the new development introduced by the organization is a new technological path by using compact and android tablet learning materials, like numeracy literacy skills, poems and other relevant learning tools which can speedy improve the knowledge of the kids from the infantry stage to the higher stage in their primary sector, the five beneficiaries schools in the chiefdoms are trained to roll out to teaching learning materials within the PortLoko District.
“Pupils will actually understand when start using learning materials from class one to class six though, the project is a pilot face for the eighty six schools in the region. Basically, the pilot face project will last for three years and later extend to other communities,” he promised.
