The brave Bra Parrot came to town this morning and as usual visited its former usual sitting place, the historic Cotton Tree and, to the dismay of Bra Parrot, heavy armed police and military presence were at the Cotton Tree.
Bra Parrot was not comfortable and flew back to where the brave bird came from.
After almost half an hour, the brave bird came to see whether the officers have left the area, but they were still at the Cotton Tree.
The brave bird this time went closer to find out what was the reason for the officers to station at the fallen historic Cotton Tree.
One senior police officer Bra Parrot talked to, not knowing he was talking to Bra Parrot and said that, “I cannot give a reason for our coming here it was just an instructions from the high command, that we are to station at the Cotton Tree, I cannot say more than that,” the armed police said.
As the discussion progressed, another senior officer came closer to join the discussion while the second officer said from his understanding “maybe it is because of the threats of Adebayor”.
Bra Parrot said to itself, if that is the case, then the government is not in control of the situation, if by any means the people seeing armed police and military officers parading the streets of Freetown when the country is not at war that will send people into fear completely as elections are just few days from now.
The brave bird believes this is the appropriate time for the Ministry of Information and Communication to put ideas together and give very good Information to the people to allay their fears.
Bra Parrot looks at the strategic unit in the Ministry as if all the workers fast asleep and not know what to do at a time like this.
As the general elections are just few days from now, for people to be seeing armed police and military officers on the streets of Freetown is a course for concern.
Bra Parrot is however, speaking the minds of the people, that is to say, the situation in the country is not favorable and the minds of the people are not at rest.
Bra Parrot is so much worried as the institutions responsible for security are not saying anything relating to what is happening now in the country.
The brave bird was and still expecting ONS and other institutions to make a statement on the current security situation in the country.
However, the brave bird will be visiting its usual sitting place and will not want to be seeing police and military officers around the fallen tree.
