Speaking to this medium yesterday 31st May, 2023, some youths at the Hill top community, located backoff former Old Skool night club have said that this time round they will vote for development and not for colour or either knowing the candidates for personal gains.
“We need development in our community and we will not vote because of APC or SLPP but will vote for the candidates that will better off the lives of residents of the Hill top community,” averred a senior stakeholder and resident, Sylva Kabba.
According to these youths, their community is a remote community because of underdevelopment which is caused by misrepresentation of the community by those they elected during the past 5 years to represent them in the well of parliament and local council, adding that their community desperately needs the swift intervention of the ruling party/government to inject development in their community.
They added that their community which is part of Constituency 128 is struggling with good roads, health centre, community centre, Government schools, and pipe-borne water as the community has not seen development for the past ten years and this they said is affecting the livelihood of inhabitants.
They told this medium that they will vote for MP, Councillor, Mayor and President that will look into the community’s basic amenities and address these challenges. And that a lot of white horse projects were brought to the community by the former MP which were never actualized.
They called on other donor-driven development partners to visit the Hill top community and help in developing their remote community.
“We wan wok n natin nor dey for do mek dem bring kam development na Hill top we dea wok free pass na for develop we community,” some of the desperate youths vented their frustration.
The Hill top community has seriously been left out of national development due ineffective representation by those they elected to represent them at different levels.
