Twenty-six-years-old, Sidique Bundu, an unemployed, has made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road court No.2 in Freetown.
He stood on a count for house breaking and larceny as contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on a dates between 30th April to 1st May 2024 at #9 Fullah Street the Western Area in Freetown, with intent to steal break, he entered into the dwelling house of one Fatmata Kamara and stole therein one digital video disc player, one electric water heater, one Tecno Spark 10 mobile phone and other assorted items.
All items cost a total value of nine thousand three hundred and fifty Leones(9,350).
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, no plea was taken.
DPC 18225 Thoronka K.K lead prosecution witness number one said she knew Fatmata Kamara as trader.
She recognized the accused person on the day of the incident and recalled on a date between0 30th April to 1st May 2024 on the above dates around 9pm. She came home and met her house ransacked. She looked at the table and couldn’t see her TV, DVD player, mobile phone and other assorted items and upon that she called her neighbour Mustapha to know who had entered her house.
But Mustapha told her that he didn’t see anyone and so he left the same day for work. The witness said she called and informed her husband about the theft. She told Mustapha to observe the area and went to her mother when she received a telephone call from Mustapha that they’ve apprehended the thief inside her room.
And on her way home, she met the accused person together with Mustapha and took the accused person to eastern police station.
All the missing items equally nine thousand three hundred and fifty leones were reported of.
The accused person was not represented by legal counsel A cross examined of the witness was done.
Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional facility while the matter was adjourned to the 12th June 2024.
