Bra Parrot has become very much disgusted with the unprecedented health hazards in the country today.
On several occasions Bra Parrot has urged the Ministry of Health and Sanitation together with Freetown City Council to put modalities in place for any future outbreak in the country-may the Lord push that far.
Bra Parrot has observed of late that, Freetown is infested with rats, mosquitoes, cockroaches and even bedbugs which are posing very serious health hazards on people in the country.
By and large, Bra Parrot holds the view that, the waste collection units of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and with the Freetown City Council are blatantly neglecting their duties for which they are paid for.
The inadequate garbage disposal in the city has seriously contributed to the spread of contagious illnesses and diseases in the country.
It looks ironical for our Ministry of Health and Sanitation together with the Freetown City Council to join a very vociferous campaign for good health for all but the problem can only be over when our backyards, streets, gutters are taken care off.
The wise bird is of the view that, the inability of both the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and the Freetown City Council to collect and dispose of the huge piles of refuse from the streets in Freetown is a clear manifestation that there is no hope for a good health on people by the year 2024 and beyond.
Bra Parrot has also gathered from various medical practitioners that, the rise of infant and mortality rate cannot be unconnected with the unsanitary condition of the city and the poor supervision of food-stuff sold nakedly on the streets of Freetown and other parts of the country.
Bra Parrot is therefore urging the Minister of Health and Sanitation and the Freetown City Council to do the utmost to remedy the situation, or else Freetown will soon be covered up with garbage before the rains.
The wise bird is of the view that, if the Ministry of Health and Sanitation together with Freetown City Council then the people will see a beautiful City.
